If you have the cash pay the policy in full for a discount rather than monthly or quarterly.

Combine all your insurance policies to get lower car insurance quotes. You will receive discount car insurance if you have additional insurance policies with the same company. Discounts for insurance

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

At Oasis insurance we always make sure that we apply any discounts we can to your policy so that you are able to get the cheapest auto insurance and home owner insurance policy possible in Arizona.
Some of the discounts that you can receive are:
Multi Policy (combining auto and home or auto and renters)
Multi Car (more than one vehicle on one policy)
Prior insurance (more than 6 months of continuous coverage)
even your job may give you a discount.

You SHOULD be requoting your auto insurance policy every 6 months to see if your prior insurance discount can save you even more money. Some companies will give auto insurance discounts for continuous coverage up to as much as 5 years. So the longer you keep insurance the better the discount. That does not mean you have to have the same policy, just no lapse in coverage.

Basic Full Coverage insurance in Arizona

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

When you go into an insurance agency and ask for “basic full coverage” do you understand what you are purchasing? Let me explain, that means most of the time you have purchased the lowest liability coverage availble which is Bodily Injury coverage at 15,000 per person, 30,000 per accident, and 10,000 property damage of others. Many refer to this coverage as BIPD. You have also purchased comprehensive which covers Fire, Theft and Vandalism, and Collision incase you vehicle is in a collision accident of any sort, a deductible is chosen anywhere from $100 to $1,500 which you are responsible for in order for the company to investigate & finish the claim process. THATS IT! You did not purchase Medical Payments for you or your passengers, Un-insured/Under-insured Motorist, Glass Coverage, Towing, or Rental…..You have asked for just the “basic”and that is what is sold to you per your request. This satisfies the state mandatory insurance coverage and most of the time the leinholder/finance company, but in all reality, if you were depending on your policy to have sufficient coverage and limits to cover you over and beyond, to not have to worry about getting sued, or put a lein on any assets you own incase it was a huge severe accident and many medical bills were incurred, or if you needed a vehicle to get you to work for a loaner car this is not the coverage you need . Please make sure next time you ask for “basic full coverage” you understand what your signature is agreeing too. Oasis Insurance would gladly help you with a good policy to cover all your insurance needs.

It is also to prevent the law enforcement from taking your vehicle if for any reason their was a traffic stop and you cold not prove, proof of insurance. Basic liability limits in the State of Arizona is 15000/30000 for bodily injury and 10000 for property.

Arizona House bill: HB 2224

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Bill HB2224 is now law. I know, what is HB2224 right?. Its a “no Insurance” law. Here in Arizona for as long as I can remember If you were caught driving with out insurance you would get a ticket, usually the ticket would be for $960.00. Before HB2224 became a law if you got a ticket for no insurance you could buy an insurance policy literally 1 hr before you court date and the judge would knock down the fine to about $200 . Right after court you could cancel your policy right away get your money back and be on your mary way.

Well this new law will help prevent this from happening. In a way this takes the power away from the judge when it comes down to waving or lowering penalty fees. Lets say its your first offense. The law states that you will get a minimum penalty fee of $500 and you will get your drivers license and registration suspended for 3 months. Talk about tough huh?

On your second offense, if you dare to do it again. I know I wont!. You would pay $750 and get your Drivers license and registration suspended for 6 months. Thats a lot of public transportation! And finally if you do it 3 or more times you would pay $1,000 and get your drivers license and registration suspended for 1 year and be required to get an SR-22* .

Your probably wondering why or how does this affect me personally anyway? Since I’m sure you always have insurance on your vehicle. In case you didn’t know for the past 5 years Arizona has been rated as one of the highest uninsured motorist (driving with out insurance)states. This affects everyone have you ever been involved in an accident with a person who has no insurance? It sucks. And not just that are you wondering why your insurance rates keep going up every 6 months even if you have been a perfect driver. Well I’ll tell you uninsured drivers that’s why. Every time an uninsured driver causes an accident in our state and the other insurance company , who at no fault of their insured has to pay to get the car fixed.

This law will help keep our roads safer and our insurance cost lower, a win-win in my book. If you don’t have insurance now get it . Call Oasis insurance they will get you insured ASAP and keep you from getting all those fines!.

*SR-22 is document or electronic certification issued by an auto insurance company that verifies to the state that you have an active auto insurance policy. It will also notify the state if you cancel you policy, then the state suspends your registration and sometimes suspends your drivers license until you activate your insurance again
